 Baby Watch

July 10th, 2008

July 19:

So, we have only known about this little one for 9 days.  What an incredible new chapter for our (growing!) family.

I am continuing progesterone injections and waiting for the first sonogram pictures...

We think we may have names already...

We're about 9 or 10 weeks pregnant.

And, we're due at the end of February....around the 20th or 22nd or so.

I really believe this baby is a gift from Nonny.

So far, I am mostly mildly nauseous and tired only in the afternoons.  I get a good second wind at night, which explains this update.

Doing well with other signs, no real strong cravings yet.

An early photo of me...coming soon.

July 20:

I think I felt the baby move yesterday...twice.  Is that possible?  I thought I felt it again today.  Should be about 10 weeks, so I guess it could be...with Laurence, I was more than four months, and with James, about three or three and a half.  This is less than three!  Anyway, could just be ordinary rumblings...:)

July 22:

Things that are different this time:

mild nausea

skin breaking out

super sniffing pregnancy nose

only tired in late afternoon

July 23:

Week by week calendar...tomorrow is 10 weeks!

July 26:

Yesterday was my first dr appointment with Dr. Hartman in Kissimmee.  It's funny since I've already seen him once, plus about twice a week for hormone injections.  So, for my first appointment, it was really like my 8th or so.  (Not to mention that I've had one in Lakeand, too, but that doesn't count either!)

Anyway, by the calendar I am about 10 weeks -- I think I'm really 8-9.  I measured that, too. We tried to hear the heartbeat, but could only find mine.  Next time!  We  did a bunch of bloodwork and history questions, and all together I'm healthy, and we have a good beginning.  He did suggest I consider VBAC, which I thought was off the table.  So, I guess I'll see what Dr. Puretz thinks -- he was pretty supportive the last time.

Next appointment in Lakeland is August 15 and in Kissimmee is August 25, except for Monday when I'll be there for another shot!

August 19:

Definitely felt the baby move yesterday!  Here are the ultrasounds from last Friday, the 15th.  All looks healthy and good -- with both of us.  :)  Can't tell the sex yet; though, we probably won't find out anyway.  Sorry, guys!

Head to left, arm resting on side, curled up.

See you soon, Baby!

August 25:

Felt the baby move again yesterday! We're about 15 weeks, which is inching closer to halfway.  Thinking about names....Girls: Brigid Nicole, Victoria Blythe, Monica Jean, Catherine Anne...Boys:  definitely Nicholas...still tossing around middle names...no pressure here!

September 16:

Another dr appt!  Went to Lakeland -- an hour there and an hour back...in dr office for 20 minutes.  Couldn't I just take my BP and e-mail it?  Anyway, all is well -- same weight, good BP, got to listen to that miraculous heartbeat...he thinks it's around 140-150 bpm.  Nice and strong.

Next appointment is another ultrasound...will we find out if it's a girl or boy?  See you on October 16th!

October 16:

It's a boy!  First time ever finding that out ahead of time...kinda cool.  Baby is almost one pound, and totally healthy.  Check out the photos for proof...:)  No dr appt -- will post after that in a week or two.  Let's get ready for little Nicholas!

October 24:

Had another ultrasound last week (it's still a boy!) -- we are watching the kidneys develop closely.  Today was a regular OB appointment -- have finally started to gain weight!  Now at +4 pounds.  Everything else is normal; glucose test is next and another ultrasound in a month.

Mike thought we should consider spelling Nicolas without an 'h.'  That is the Italian and French spelling -- with the 'h' is Greek.  Of course, I am Italian, and my name, Nicole, is after the French form, Nicolette.  Plus, it looks more similar to my name, since we're naming him after me!  And, we could call him Nico or Cole...we would still spell Nick with a 'k' since Nic is baby Dominic.  :)  We'll keep you posted!

March 2:

Before...

After!!

He arrived Friday the 13th of February, and today we are taking his first newborn photos -- other than the hospital ones, of course.  Wish us luck!
